Molybdenum Bar
Molybdenum bar are long strips of material made of molybdenum (Mo) that are commonly used in a variety of high-temperature and high-performance industrial applications. Because molybdenum has a high melting point, good electrical conductivity, thermal stability, and corrosion resistance.
1. Electronics and electrical industry: used as electronic components, such as filament holders for light bulbs, contactors, relays and other electronic devices in high-voltage or high-temperature environments.
2. Glass manufacturing: As a heating element in glass furnaces, because molybdenum rods can work at high temperatures without being oxidized or corroded.
3. Vacuum furnaces and heat treatment equipment: Molybdenum rods can be used as heating elements in environments that require high temperature resistance without contaminating the materials being processed.
4. Target material: In surface coating technologies such as sputtering coating, molybdenum rods can be used as molybdenum target materials to prepare thin films.
5. Alloy production: As an additive material, used to produce special alloys containing molybdenum, such as high-temperature super alloys.
6. Chemical catalysis: used as a catalyst carrier or reaction accelerator in chemical reactions.
7. Steel industry: Added to steel as an alloying element to improve the properties of steel.
8. Single crystal growth: In semiconductor and crystal growth processes, molybdenum rods can be used as crucibles or support structures.
9. Welding electrode: In some special welding processes, molybdenum rods are used as electrode materials.

Because of these properties and applications, molybdenum rods often require specialized metalworking and metallurgical processes to manufacture. Pure molybdenum is relatively brittle and difficult to process into complex shapes, so other elements (such as rhenium) are sometimes added to increase its toughness and processability. When using molybdenum bar, you need to pay attention to its easy oxidation characteristics at high temperatures and take appropriate protective measures.
