Platinum is a precious metal having very good physical and chemical properties such as high corrosion resistance, thermal conductivity, catalytic nature.
As it is very expensive, platinum cannot be used in its solid form as an anode. So that Platinised Metal Anodes ( Pt Anode ) are produced by electroplating platinum ( Pt ) on a specially treated precious metal ( Titanium / Niobium / Tantalum / Zirconium ) substrate by means of electrodeposition process.
Thus electroplated metal anodes are economical as well as it retains the superior physical and chemical properties of platinum.

Various anode structure have been developed by ZHUO HANG XIN over the years to match the industry requirements. Today we produce anodes in all kind of shapes: sheet, mesh, rod, strip, plate, wire, tubular or combinations thereof. Their size varies from few cm2 to several m2. The process in which the anodes are used determines their size, shape and coating specification.
Size and shape are determined by:
The electrochemical cell or installation wherein the anodes are used.
The process conditions, such as electrolyte composition, temperature, current density, design life, etc.
Mechanical load of the anode.
Electrical conductivity of the base material.
Platinum is used on the surface as a primary anode material due to its excellent corrosion resistance under anodic conditions coupled with its ability to pass current in all electrolytes without forming an insulating film. The corrosion resistance of platinum manifests itself in its low consumption rate. Its major disadvantage is its high cost, thus making it clear that it is most desirable to use as little platinum as is necessary. In order to restrict the amount of platinum used and to maintain an anode of some structural integrity, it is necessary to use some type of substrate material.
Included among the properties of the substrate should be the ability to form an insulating film under anodic conditions, such that a dimensionally stable anode is obtained, good conductivity, and relatively low cost. As there are no individual materials which fully meet all of these criteria, it is necessary in most cases to use a combination of materials.
To properly manufacture an anode material which is composed of multilayers, sophisticated metallurgical processing techniques must be employed to insure integral contact between the metal layers. The ideal method of insuring this contact is by providing a metallurgical bond. All of ZHUO HANG XIN clad materials are manufactured through very tightly controlled metallurgical coprocessing techniques yielding complete metallurgical bonds.

Production Method:
Titanium anode is a kind of electro-catalysis electrode in electro-chemistry, which is composed by substrate that is pure titanium and coated that is precious metal oxide.
Three Procedures:
1. Substrate treatment: it needs to be treated by roughing, cleaning and removing oil, which can increase the compactness of catalytic.
2. Brushing
Drying
After substrate treatment, it will be proceeded brush coated. The main coated content is platinum group metal, which is a kind of mixed solution.
Then, heat treatment will be going on after drying.
The whole procedure need to be repeated many times. This method is better to form thin oxide catalytic that is lamellar adhere to substrate surface.
